When we see a portrait we can look closely and admire and rejoice in that persons specialness. This kind of encounter is an exchange between the viewer, the painting, and the subject.
Seeing the beautiful inner beings of a person and painting it into their portrait so all can see and feel. The viewer seeing this beauty finds compassion and love growing in their hearts for this person and this love that the viewer feels travels energetically to that person in the painting. Surrounding them with this love.
Portraits also allow the sitter to see their inner beauty that they might not have yet discovered.
