Painting a portrait is a very intense and moving experience.

Looking deep into another eyes reveals their inner self, the true person within the body. Sometimes we never get to see the inner being of another or even ourselves. In my portrait paintings I want to dive deep and bring forth this beautiful powerful being and merge it with the outer features so when the portrait is viewed one can rejoice in this complete dynamic being. It is a connection, a loving connection, to the person and shared through paint with the sitter as well as with all who view the portrait. My art does not just repeat the obvious...

Taos Dreams

Sitting on my Grandma’s couch, with her wrinkly hand in mine, might have been the first time I realized how important old people were to me. I have had many amazing experiences with elders since then and I am so grateful for the love wisdom and courage they shared with me. Lillian Romero of the Taos Pueblo spent her life dedicated to helping elders. She didn’t just do the little things she went big. Hiking in the beautiful rolling hills of Boulder’s has become a true love of mine. Like any passion or pastime, one develops favorite spots that draw you back again and again. It seems no matter how much something may seem familiar, and how many times you walk a path, there is always something you see that was previously unnoticed. Once while hiking a dead and burned tree caught my eye, I had seen it many times before without truly taking it in. But this time it not only caught my eye it caught me. There was something so majestic and...
